Football and cricket are the most popular sports in Dubai. six teams (Al-Wasl, Al Shabab, Al-Ahli, Al Nasr, Dubai and Hatta CSC) represent Dubai in UAE League football.Al-Wasl have the second highest number of League Championship Under UAE with Al Ain. Cricket is followed by Dubai's large community of Indians and people of other nations play cricket (Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Britain, Australia and South Africa). In 2005, the International Cricket Council (ICC) moved its headquarters from London to Dubai. The city hosted several matches in Pakistan and two new grass grounds are being developed in Dubai Sports City.






Dubai also hosts two annual Dubai Tennis Championships and the Dubai tennis tournaments rock legends golf tournament and Dubai Desert Classic and Dubai World Championship, attracting athletes from around the world. The Dubai World Cup, a race of thoroughbreds, is held annually at the Meydan Racecourse.
